The barbering industry has seen significant growth and evolution over the years. However, many barbers still face challenges related to education, networking, and recognition.
. The PGCBASSN seeks to address these issues by providing a platform for barbers to connect, learn, and collaborate, ultimately raising the standards of the profession. It is important to uphold the professional standards within the barbering industry, as societal norms change we too must continue our journey of learning, applying, and assessing community needs.
Established in 2017, PGCBASSN is a grassroots association that's mobilizing and organizing licensed barbers and barbershop owners from across Prince George's County to bring about positive changes in the communities we serve, by providing quality and effective resources.
PGCBASSN aims to create a thriving community of barbers that continuously improve and support one another. By offering valuable resources, education, and networking opportunities, the association will contribute to the growth and recognition of the barbering profession.
We are passionate about the barber industry and its impact on individuals within our community. Families, friends, colleagues, and neighbors all visit barbershops at one time or another. The intent is to enjoy the barber shop experience enough and want to come back. From there, you gain trust, and loyalty, and eventually become an extended family member. This is something that can never be taken lightly, people depend on their visit to the barbershop. It is about more than just a haircut, the barber becomes a part of your life.
Mission Statement
We seek to mobilize and organize the barbershops and licensed barbers within Prince George's County Maryland, to work together to bring about positive change in the communities we serve. We exist to meet the needs of the Licensed Barbers as well as the community, by providing quality service, and resources, in addition to offering monthly activities for the barbers to help support the mental, physical, and spiritual aspects that make us human.
